Ed Sheeran - Perfect
Yeah, scratch the rule where no artist can have more than three songs on the countdown at once. Perfect debuts this week and none of this other songs *cough* Shape of You *cough* left. Let me start off by saying that this is very different from the other singles off of Divide. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t good. Ed Sheeran’s vocals are really getting better. The lyrical content is really good too. The production is great as well. We need more slow and beautiful ballads like this on the countdown, because it really brings more interest and love to this. I think the next single off of Divide should be New Man or Eraser. I hope this track has success here.

Fergie/Nicki Minaj - You Already Know
Fergie is back again! This time, she brings us You Already Know featuring Nicki Minaj. This is a pretty solid track if you ask me. Fergie’s chorus is great and I like her verse. Nicki Minaj also does pretty good. Obviously not as good as in tracks like Back Together with Robin Thicke or Side to Side with Ariana Grande. Then Fergie comes back for the bridge or post-chorus. I don’t think the repetition of the words, “I said, watch me” are necessary. But it is still solid. And heck that final chorus is awesome. In case you didn’t know, this was released with the album Double Dutchness along with L.A. Love and Hungry. So I’m hoping this does great!

Evaride - Heartless
With the highest debut of the week is new band Evaride branching out with their debut single titled Heartless. Just from this amazing track, these guys can make some really good beats! The song is about how everybody has gone through dark times in their lives (proof is the 9/2 HitBound, I listened to it). I know I have. The production is amazing, and their vocals are awesome. Fun fact about Evaride: their drummer, Josh, once supported and produced for One Direction. I guess he made them get so popular, hmmm..... But overall, this is a really fun and addicting track that I can listen to all day. I’m hoping this has a lot of success because it deserves it.

She Was Blurb-ect Tonight
~ Starting with the exits, I was starting to despise Get Low, so it’s the perfect (no reference) time for this to leave. After weeks and weeks on the countdown, L.A. Devotee just died off and left. Fine with that, good riddance. And finally..... FETISH HAS OFFICIALLY LEFT! And here was my reaction:
Good riddance to you!
~ Wish I Knew You takes a mini tumble this week. I am kinda starting to get over this song, so that is okay by me. It’s still a good song, but I wouldn’t really mind if it leaves next week.
~ *sees #33* WHY THE HECK, HITS 1????? WHAT ARE YOU SAYING????? WHY ARE YOU UNDERRATING 1-800-273-8255????? REALLY BRUH????????
~ *sees #30* This isn’t necessarily better. We don’t need Shape of You in the Top 30 again. What I need is it to leave. I don’t understand how someone would still enjoy this, but I respect your opinion if you do. Like I said in the Perfect review, I want Perfect to have success and not just sit in the Bottom 15 for its whole tenure and not playing in the first hour of the countdown.
~ I have been noticing that Havana has only fell 3 spots every week. Funny if you ask me.
~ Just like for Perfect, I want Too Good At Goodbyes to have success. So why is it spending half its tenure at #26 and #25?
~ Thank god for the drop, Body Like A Back Road. That jump into the Top 20 last week was pretty darn scary. Now drop even MORE, you piece of GARBAGE!
~ Right above Body Like A Back Road, we have Why, jumping big on not its second, not third, but FOURTH week. Weird if you ask me. I’ve been growing into the song lately, so that is just something.
~ Spyder Harrison made a mistake with Rain as he said that it dropped 12 spots but it actually did the opposite — jumped 12 spots. This song is amazing to heaven, so I’m glad it’s gaining here.
~ It looks like it is the end of the road for There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back and Something Just Like This, the latter for real this time. As for the former, I hope it can hold out for a bit longer because I still love this.
~ Believer only had like one spin this whole week and only dropped one spot. It was either gonna leave for fall 30. #WhenHits1MakesIdiotChoices
~ How Long was of course destined to jump into the Top 20 this week. I’m happy it’s gaining because this is a really good song that deserves its success so far.
~ I do think What Lovers Do is a fun and catchy song. It is. I just feel like it isn’t really Top 10 material. I will allow it, but that is just how I feel about it.
~ At #5, we have Feel It Still, crushing Billboard and American Top 40 way past our expectations due to radio and digital sales, and it looks like it won’t slow down anytime soon. I would love if this were to hit #1, and if it does, it should be to block our #2 or even our #4, Sorry Not Sorry and Strip That Down respectively from the top.
~ Our #1 is the same from last week, so that is good.

Goodbye, my friends; HitBound is coming tomorrow.

Nice job. Totally also thought that Believer would leave.
ReplyDeleteI know you don't do the YouTube 15 much anymore. But a song was on there that I really like. Feels Great by Cheat Codes featuring Fetty Wap & CVBZ. Would you please listen to it and tell me what you think? I'm just curious on what the blogging community thinks about it.
Thanks a bunch!
