New Entrants (10/7/2017)

This was out later than intended. Sorry for the wait. I had to prepare for a trip to Phoenix (I’m there right now), and it was a 2 hour flight. Here is what we will review this week:

* Hailee Steinfeld & Alesso/Florida Georgia Line/watt - Let Me Go (#38)
* The Script - Rain (#32)
* Camila Cabello - Havana (#23)
* Taylor Swift - ...Ready for It? (#17)

Let Me Go
Aww, man! I wanted to save the best for last, but remember? I go lowest debut to highest, and it just so happens this debuted the lowest. And I have my pride to shout anyway, so.... YES! LET ME GO, ONE OF THE BEST SONGS I’VE HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, AND THE BEST OF THE YEAR, HAS OFFICIALLY DEBUTED!!! LET’S CELEBRATE THIS DAY (week technically but who gives a f**k?)!! I’m going to make this simple: Hailee never lets me down! I actually like a song from Alesso for once though (Aside from Alesso/Nico & Vinz - I Wanna Know). Hailee and F.G.L.’s vocals really blend together, especially when the chorus comes in. Even with the unnecessary feature (wtf is watt anyway), this is still amazing.
Rain
This was ranked as #2, I think on Friday’s Wutchuwant Countdown, so no surprise. Onto the song, The Script comes back with Rain. This is definitely a different sound for them. I like the tropical vibe they put in the song. The chorus is really good, too. From Hall of Fame to Breakeven to Superheroes to this, this is another win for The Script.
Havana
Well, Havana joins the “One On HitBound and Done” club. I like the piano in this track. Hits 1 cut out Young Thug, so I have no problem with that. Camila’s vocals aren’t bad either. That line “Havana, oh na na, oh, my heart is in Havana, oh na na” gets stuck in my head for quite a long time. I would like to see this do gggggoooooodddddd.
...Ready for It?
Here is the all special debut. Taylor Swift’s second song (about to become a single in the next few weeks) from Reputation. I think this one is better than Look What You Made Me Do, but remember that is my opinion. The production is awesome here. This sounds like the old Taylor that everyone loved. I don’t really have much else to say.

No ratings. This is ridiculously late anyway.

  1. I don't see what's so special about Let Me Go, it's better than Starving, but I just don't think it stands out all that well. When compared to some of the other hits this year, it just kinda fades into the background.
